Builds for Normal Mode:
4str / 1 dex=
Pros / Great damage, fast soloing. Did I mention, great damage?
Cons / You'll need to drink potions a lot, or sit. The low dex means your stamina pool will drain out fast doing combos, and low dex means you evade less so you take more damage.
At a glance: A fantastic damage output for normal, with sufficient accuracy (you gain+1dex by default, remember), but unless you have a friend / guild helping you out financiall, you'll be resting a lot.
3str / 2dex=
Pros / Very balanced, yet very powerful normal mode build. You have enough evasion, solid damage output and will level fast. A very reliable normal mode pvp build.
Cons / No luc means rare crits (for high damage)
At a glance: Arguably the best build for normal mode.
2str / 3dex=
This build is essentially the exact same thing as above except you trade damage output for slightly more defense. You gain more stamina pool yet probably need to do one or two more swings to kill a target, so it amounts to the same thing. Choose this if you are more defensive-minded. Note: You will level slower than the 3/2 posted above.
Builds for Hard Mode
Note: Luc builds now are very possible and powerful on hardmode, because you have sufficient stat points to play with to raise it to a reasonable level.
Again: obscure builds will be ignored yet any weird but possibly successful build will be listed.
6str / 1dex=
Pros / Great damage, simply great. Your crits, though rare, are astonishing. This build also is phenomenal to couple with knockout nostrums to breeze through leveling and then potentially change builds with a restat to something better for pvp (more dex)
Cons / You won't crit much, if ever until you get the 90 luc buff later on.
5str / 2dex=
Same as above, except you get 3 dex a level now (2+ 1 automatic). This is medium to low dex, but sufficient if you are more offensive-minded.
4str/ 3dex=
A more balanced build. Solid evasion, good stamina pool at the cost of slightly slower killing pace. Very solid overall.
3str/4dex =
A more defense oriented build.
2str/5dex=
You enjoy to pvp and have people whifff, because it amuses you. This will be terribly slow to level up, but if you enjoy to JUST stunlock in pvp, this is possible. Arrows / swings will miss a lot in pvp unless they big coup against you.
A look at luc
5luc/ 2dex =
Pros / Starts to shine through after level 30 with constant crits and good damage output.
Cons / Knockout nostrums will be useless to you after level 38+ as you crit a ton anyway. Leveling early on (the first 30 or so) will be painfully slow... PAINFULLY slow.
At a glance: Consider this as a restat later on... don't start with it.
6luc/ 1 dex=
same as above, more offensive minded.
7luc=
You are crazy and want to be unique. It is not a bad build, it's really not. It's not necessarily a great build either. Assassins are a dexterity based class though... (leveling early will be gruesomely slow)
